>Thanks Gregory, seems like you do with the VM's what I do. I have them on Drive D: and I can do a Lenovo OneKey restore at anytime without touching my true development players. Speaking of that, I am still using VM version 6.07 as I found version 12 slower. Are you experiencing that?

VMware version 12 runs fine for me - Think I skipped version 7 or so - uninstalled it because it was slow

As to performance, I'm sure you know that
(1) Give the VMs sufficient RAM
(2) Give the VMs sufficient processors/cores - minimum 2 - and 2 is sufficient for FoxPro dev machine
(3) Don't store the data you access a lot ( dbf's and the like) on a network drive - aka as shared folders - very slow
(4) Instead use VMware hard discs ( config)
Advantage - they copy very fast to a NAS provided you configure jumbo frames - I copy almost 4 GB/min over my 1Gbit network to the NAS when copying very large files
(5) Have sufficient RAM on you laptop so that the VMs don't have to page/swap
