>>Bottom line, anyone who distributes should be locked away. The only problem with sentencing for distribution, is that we do not use it enough. We need to make the laws and sentences tougher, not easier.

The sentencing for distribution is quite harsh - way too harsh - like life sentences and such.

>If its not criminal why should distributors be locked away. Selling to minors should be an offense in the same way selling alcohol to minors is. Take out the criminality as a result reduce the profit also it becomes a taxable regulated business.

Exactly. How many tax dollars has Colorado got from the pot sales in the past year? If it's illegal, then all this money ends up in the hands of the drug cartels. I'm sure Mexico would like to see an end to this problem.

And if the distributors are what you want to lock up - then that means that all the lawmakers in Colorado and the other states where pot sales have become legal in one way or another (which is half the states now) should be in federal prison for racketeering right? I mean they sat down and came up with a way to violate federal law on a a huge scale right? None of this really makes any sense. The 'drug war' has been lost - time to give up and move another direction.
