Interesting. There was an attempt back in '10 to create a VFP.Net using the Boo compiler.
Had that, or this, appeared in 2006 it would have been exciting. The promise/premise was that .Net apps would run everywhere.
Given that more web pages are consumed on mobile devices than computers, and given the installation requirements of pc-based apps, and given the ability to make a JavaScript web app into a desktop app using Electron.JS, I'm not seeing a market for WPF apps.
That said, there are a lot of useful libraries, both in .Net and from 3rd parties, that one might want to use in backend app servers. That, presumably, is why Lianja has roadmapped dynamic C# and VB.Net compilation and .Net Core integration coming sometime next year.
