>>If you come to PA in the middle of the winter, JB will definitely loan you one of his warm jackets

I prefer to visit the East Coast and upper Midwest when it's Winter down under. For a few years before kids were in school, I moved around enough to avoid Winter altogether. I think my best Summers (apart from the NZ variant at Christmas/New Year with jandals, BBQs and boxes of cherries as big as plums) would have been the sweltering UK August a few years back and the long blazing summers you guys take for granted with fireflies and day after day after day of clear skies and temperatures in the 80s. FWIW NZ has no fireflies... but then nor does it have any snakes, or venomous spiders apart from one that can give you a sore spot if you mess with it plus some of those hideous Australian ones always trying to sneak in.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
