Ok. Here's the solution. After many trials and tribulations, Mike Meer, found on the Novell site document (2920765). This particular document refers to a FoxPro for Dos problem that occurs when opening more than 170 files. The client seems to be unable to release the file handle after 170.

1st. As Barbara suggested we went to Craig's site and in the knowledge base dealing with the corrupted indexes he states that you should get the most recent Client 32 version.

2nd. As Ed Suggested we disabled Packet Burst and Write Caching. Without this change we still receive inconsistent results.

3rd. Finally according to the Novell solution there is a new setting in this latest version: MAXIMUM FILE LOCKS PER CONNECTION. You have to turn this ON both on the client and the server.

At least it has been working consistently up to this point. We will be doing more testing.

Thank you again for you assistance. I hope you will find this additional information will be useful.

Dan
