Truthfully, I think the majority of people who take these positions do a very bad job of practicing what they preach. So while Marcia wasn't right on this specific person, there are plenty where the assumption is correct.
(And in fairness, I also detest when people take hypocritical positions from a conservative point of view. One of the biggest one that drives me nuts is conservatives who are doing everything to overturn Roe v Wade to protect the unborn....but yet push for insanely insensitive bills that impact poor families who give birth to babies).
In this case, the girl actually did a good job of practicing what she preached. A few years ago I ran into her - she actually still holds the same extreme views, but she does go further than most to stay consistent with them.
I just remembered another humorous story, right before we broke up. She criticized me because I wouldn't make a donation to support Mondale, and she did it in front of others. So I was looking for pay-back.
Third person: "My brother starts high school next week, he's thinking of joining the football team"
Her: "Oh, great, now he can get brain damage for life!"
Me (to her): "You played high school football too?"
That earned me a middle finger right in the face. (I got many of those from her)
What was I thinking????
