>>I saw this big fat slob who must have weighed 350 pounds walking toward me

LOL. I took one of those puddle jumpers from Munchen to Basel a while back. A blonde German built like an American Football player was seated next to me. We commiserated that they'd done the usual sterling job seating the two biggest dudes on the plane next to each other and had quite a nice conversation as we leaned away from each other and made do.

My worse experience was in the US where I once was seated next to a gentleman who had lost a lot of weight, but retained loose folds of skin that cascaded across onto my seat. Bravo to him for losing weight, but limp folds of flesh coming across under the armrest is not a nice experience.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
