>Sad as it is, to be a liar sounds necessary qualification. The failure is to be caught.
But being caught and moving on as if nothing happened is a feature. After the invention of politicians' teflon for Reagan, allowing some lying as long as the military-industrial complex gets their share of law-breaking covered in Clinton's term, to "staying on the message" as a way to just plain refuse to answer any questions, perfected in Bush/Cheney's term - this natural progression may yet amaze us with its accomplishments in the future.
They may even give birth to a politician who may accidentally pass a day without uttering a single lie and get away with it.
