1. goto Tools/options in vs2016, select source control and set TFS.
2. goto TeamExplorer, click on on the green plug in the toolbar.
3. You might have to click on ManageConnections to get the add srver option. Add a server and give it the address to the tfs server.
4. Choose your team project
