What you see now is not exactly what you will get. Real estate in the upper right, on the right, will have its purposes. We just turned off some options for now until we fine tune more about it. The points you mention have already been addressed and it was mentioned that some settings will apply. Counter colors will be one of them, so issues with that will be addressed. The news feed hasn't been touched on this small update. There is, of course, more work on it. There is still the top 10 item which will be moved to other locations and so on, by the importance and frequency used so far.
