It lost it a long time ago.
- Had it not been for two mavericks - Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward- Nixon would probably be a national hero.
-Every major newspaper and TV network blew it on Vietnam
-No major newspaper or TV network got it right on Desert Storm, Afghanistan, Iraq or Syria.
-The financial news outlets -WSJ and CNBC- are owned by Wall Street.
I don't find that bleak.. it's what it is.
The NY Times still has a great crossword puzzle, but its editorial page is absurd.
There are lots of good places to get different viewpoints on the web.
CSPAN is a good source on the wasteland that is TV.
PBS and NPR once were, but now they're political correctness on steroids.
It would be shocking to see a white, heterosexual, Anglo-Saxon man on PBS who is not a wife beater, bigot, homophobe, woman-groper, or child abuser.
