The 5L doesnt only have a driver, it has a set of install disks that must be installed: with useless things like an animated technical picture of what the printer is currently doing.

You may want to look at www.hp.com to find the latest driver for the 5L. They have a great page that allows you get printer drivers, print manuals for the printer, and even a link that creates a page that lists the options for the printer dialog box: you mark the options and press a button, and it fills an editbox with the escape codes to send to your printer to configure it: you cut and paste this into notepad and do a file-print, and your printer gets configured.
