Wanted to share this one as it saved me a lot of time.
https://weblog.west-wind.com/posts/2014/may/08/iis-ssl-certificate-renewal-painBasically, I completed a certificate request and, in the "Friendly name" field, I entered something different than the one I already had. I wanted to make sure I could still do a rollback. So, I entered a temporary name. But, after it went ok, I removed the old one and use Rick's approach to rename the friendly name.
