>I have a bluetooth device (headset) that I added to the Windows 7 Bluetooth devices. So obviously Windows "detected" this device when it was on. Now when I turn the headset on, I tried to listen to a youtube but no sound is sent to the headset. The headset actually works with iPhone. And to test it, I turned the bluetooth off on the iphone, just so it was be interfering. What do you suggest?

It could be that the device is correctly connected, but you don't have your Windows Sound output set to be sent to it.

Go into Control Panel...Sound and make sure your headset is selected as the output device.

I believe headsets are also a special case - if Windows detects they are plugged in they could/might automatically get sound routed to them. That's an extra function you may want to check for and configure if available.
