I hadn't noticed the USA being a laughing stock under President Obama. Maybe you're reading the wrong news and talking to the wrong people.

Or it may be YOU who is reading the wrong news and talking to the wrong people.

I do think the US needs a candidate who can unify as you seem as polarised in The USA as we are in the UK post Brexit but neither candidate seems to fit that bill.

This may be true but, unfortunately, at this point, it is a binary choice.
