I missed your question whether I know any trans people.

As a wannabe artist, I belong to an art group in Pa composed of serious artists and wannabe's like me.
There are over 200 members in the group.
I frequently mingle with the group at shows, meetings, etc.
That group has every shape, size and flavor of political, ethnic, religious and sexual persuasion you can dream up.
Do you want to know what feeling like an ultimate minority might be?
Try hanging out with a bunch of artists when you're a hetero-sexual male Irish Catholic.
I can't speak for the other members but it's never been a problem for me.
I've had lots of productive interactions with some pretty far-out people.

That said, it would be foolish to think that I have much in common with them outside the art world.
We might as well be living on different planets.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
