The 115,200 you are seeing is the speed between the port and the Modem not the modem speed. If it is a 56K modem it has a max download speed of about 53Kbs and a max upload speed of 33,600 kbs. You have to look at the connection to see the actual speed. The max download speed is set I think by the FCC and not the modedm so even though it is capable of 56KBS it is working at a lower speed.
