>> I've been "stopped and frisked" before.

I've never been stopped let alone searched. But then, my only drug of interest is the red one that comes in a 750ml bottle with some Cabernet or Pinot Noir in it.

I did had a fairly stern time leaving the US one time when their fancy machine said there was explosive residue on my hand luggage. All I can think of, is some hunting a few weeks earlier with some cartridge residue maybe getting onto the bag. They swabbed and checked and seemed a bit embarrassed about it, especially when a toddler daughter came over brimming with tears to ask daddy what's wrong. On that note: my advice is to treat every moment with your daughter as if it's the good stuff, because you'll never know until later that it was- and in the blink of an eye she'll be driving your car, knowing everything about everything, blaming you for President Orange, and asking you not to be so embarrassing around her friends. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
