>>If someone were burning an effigy of Obama..

Oh, let them get it out of their systems. They're young, and illusions spawned in a cozy echo chamber world of safe spaces and newspeak, has just encountered reality. Let them show hatred on their anti-hate marches and rail against KKK effigy burnings as they burn effigies of Trump, and sermonize on love and respect as they try to kick in a jeweler's window. The smart ones will snap out of it and the others will seek tenure in universities.

Meanwhile there are intelligent people- like Tamar- who cannot be tarred with that brush. Tamar isn't a rioter and nor is she obliged to own or defend their actions just because they happen to share an opinion.

But equally, how can it be fair to blame Trump because some KKK nonentity is given 15 minutes of fame by a biased MSM. Trump refused and dissociated himself from the support, did he not? Still some echo chamberists tell themselves there's a KKK dawn with new members exploding from the woodwork to burn effigies on the front lawn of the White House as Donald serves rye.

Better burn an effigy to protest that.

The valid intellectual response at this point, is to give the man a chance. If he goes on to exemplify the things that some fear- then the Middle Class who swept him into history, can sweep him out again.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
