>So far all I've heard about is some problems in Portland. I'm watching the news right now and there is a discussion about how peaceful the NYC protests have been along with many of the other cities.

>ROFL and LOL!!! And exactly what are your news sources? The Huffington Post? VBG.

>The job of the president does not involve telling people to abandon their right to protest, so I would not expect him to do so.

>Neither would I. As I have said repeatedly, I am an avid supporter of the first amendment. Something that you apparently are not - if someone expresses an opinion that is different from yours, all you want to do is to shut him/her up - kinda like those poor college students that require a safe space. However, I DO believe that part of the president's job is to speak out against violence (which apparently you are so blind that you don't see)

I have not told anyone to shut up or ask them not to voice their opinion. All I've done here is either agree or disagree then state my views, nor have I ever suggested that I'm not against violence or that the president shouldn't speak out against it. However I do think it's necessary for some violence to exist in order to be speaking out against it. Considering the large number of protests and protesters in many cities across the nation going on, I'd say overall it's been pretty peaceful with the exception of a few outside agitator anarchists - I do not see anything that warrants some sort of intervention by the president - thus far nothing has gotten out of hand to the point where that type of thing is necessary - a few isolated local incidents that can be handled at the local level - and should be as the president should be dealing with more pressing issues - like assisting with the transition of power to the incoming administration for example.

>Marcia - ya know people are upset that people like you have voted for, and thus supported racism - so in effect these protests that you're complaining about is your own fault. If you don't want the protests - I suggest that you should not be supporting racism. As a so-called product of the 60's protests you claim to be, you should be ashamed of yourself right now and so some soul searching instead of blaming others for the result of your own actions and others like you actions.

>Like I have said before, I do not know which planet you are living on. Jupiter? However, I do know that since you have smeared my reputation by accusing me of supporting racism here in writing in a public forum. They call this libel. I suggest that you cease and desist with your personal attacks against me. There actually are laws against this sort of thing...

You said you voted for Trump. Trump is clearly a racist as has been proven since the day he announced he was running for office.. His entire campaign was riddled with racism. You voted for Trump - therefor you CAN NOT DENY that you DID INDEED support racism because YOU JUST VOTED FOR IT - it was part of the package Marcia and you damn well knew it when you voted for it too. Now you may not like this fact - but it's a true fact. As I've said before - this does not mean you are a racist - but it DOES mean you supported racism. There is no such law against me telling you or anyone else this since you shared who it was you voted for. You made your bed - now you must sleep in it. The only person that you have to blame for a smeared reputation is obviously yourself.
