i do not understand why it would be a wise idea to give a racist homophobic islamaphob sexist "the benefit of the doubt". Generally it's a good idea to predict what someone is going to say and do in the future by looking at what they have said and done in the past. I certainly hope he will completely change everything about himself after his 70 years on the planet - but I'm not foolish enough to go into this giving him the 'benefit of the doubt'. This seems about as bright as putting a child alone in a room with a sex predator and giving them the 'benefit of the doubt'.
