>I was looking to add a control on a form, and for some reason I was clicking on the TOOLBOX icon instead of the "forms control" icon. Frankly, I don't even know what that tool box icon is for. So I'm ok... of course now I'm wondering what that toolbox icon is for.

It's supposed to be your favorite stuff list, where you keep (links to) pieces you frequently use, a sort of friendly version of the form controls icon (which is exactly the wrong thing to use - you don't want base class controls on your forms, ever). But as it vanishes each time you Clear All, the dbf gets lost every now and then, I've found it very unpractical and for the last ten years I think I used it perhaps once. Before that, tried it a few times, got nowhere, forgot. To me, it's useless.

I use class browser - with its clumsy way of dropping controls to your form (select the control so its icon in the top row changes, then drag and drop that icon - not the row from the treeview) it's still far better than toolbox.
