There's nothing wrong with taking vacations. Running the country is a tough job. Just don't act like an insensitive jerk and hit the golf course just minutes after announcing than an American was beheaded by ISIS.

You make a good point. But I want to know when is the last time you took a 2 week vacation where your transportation was a private jet and the entire thing was paid for by someone else.

If he really only wants a dollar, he can take the normal salary and then donate the money to worthy causes - like homeless shelters, food banks, etc.

Sorry - that is what the federal government has been doing for decades. Taking OUR tax dollars and redistributing them to causes that the government elites deem worthy. I am a very charitable person but I resent being told that I am not smart enough to know the correct causes to which I should contribute.
