Agreed. Say the Black Panthers had announced pleasure at the election of Obama. (Which they did.) The MSM would not have treated that as breathtaking news to be given prominence at every opportunity; more as a predictable preference that actually tells us nothing about Obama. When fake images of Obama in a Black Panther outfit were circulated, the MSM was quick to rebut that lie. Which is as it should be.
In 2016, effectively defunct groups like the KKK celebrated Trump. This time the MSM and its familiars are all over it. Even when given the exact words of Trump's repudiation, some prefer to imagine that Trump is having dinner with David Duke as we speak.
Not only is this "fake news," it's an antisocial act because the undue attention is likely to increase interest in the KKK by haters and ne'er-do-wells. This is exactly the sort of antisocial antic that turns off decent voters IMHO (see, I can do it too.)
