>>But even if we look at the popular vote...

Consider that Brexit was by popular vote. Still it was unfair according to protestors, since places like Scotland voted to stay but were submerged in the popular vote. A system more similar to the Electoral College would be fairer, they said, so that smaller states might have their voice heard. Some advocated that Scotland or Northern Ireland should break away to stay in the EU rather than being dragged into something they don't want by the English horde.

In 2016 the losing side seems to have a tendency to rail against the system, whatever it may be, and then produce junk pseudoscience to help justify anti-democratic protest.

Meanwhile I saw a remarkable WSJ article- remarkable if you consider the moneybags rag to be part of the MSM, that is. I note that this article isn't easily found on Google that remains dominated by Orwellian MSM smears when you Google "Bannon."

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
