>Tax is sufficiently complicated that its possible to avoid it by being creative. I'd call that dodging . Most salaried employees don't have access to Donalds creative accounting methods. He could instruct his accountants to ensure he pays a fair amount of tax. He chooses not to.

True. But there is also some inertia embedded insofar as inflation gobbling up buying power is leading to more of the "buying power" being taxed or only the inflated monetary valued part taxed again and again.

I would be all for simpler tax schemes, as long as they are automatically inflation adjusted. And I would prefer some data on his returns.

As for development deals including being free of some taxes : if Trump really delivered at a minuscle fraction of price compared to estimates for completion or total development, that would still be a good deal for the public as well. But in that area even less data to build an opinion grounded well enough for my taste.

One thing conviniently forgotten by now is the amount of $ available to each candidate. The amount of $ spent on last ditch advertising was always considered to be significantly correlated with outcome AND to be one of the bad points of the US facet of democracy. rump did achieve his goal on a budget much smaller than thought possible.

Does not mean I think he will single-handidly solve most problems (neither world or US), but is at least refreshing ;-)
