I've found the problem as suggested by Naoto to where to look for the possible problem. its in the values of some of the local variables and found that lcCurrentDir was assigned a specific location in a program. That's the reason why it keeps copying the files in that particular folder instead to the folder where i am expecting the files to be copied. So when the program is compiled into executable, it reads that program and while i'm running it in VFP the program is not called that why it works in VFP testing and not when after compiling into executable file
