People voted for Trump did so with full knowledge that he is a racist - so sure this is exactly the type of thing they voted for. Doesn't mean they wanted to - but duh they did. These types of things shouldn't come as some big shock to people - I'm sure there will be more of it to come. In the meantime all we can do is write letters and make phone calls to our representatives and hold protests to be sure we are heard.
