I'm not sure there is a problem. I should note that one program is using Microsoft SQL and the other just free tables. My question is what do you believe is best - change the free table to use MS SQL or change the SQL program to use the free table. The shared file belongs to the free table program. It appears that it maybe easier to change the SQL program but I think that is because I have not used SQL (remote views) in the past.
