VB is an object-based and never an OOP language. That's the fatal mistake of some guys in software development. Try to go deeper on OOP methodology and you can do amazing database applications. It's really difficult to learn but it's worthit...
We should ask: who will win the development battle: Good VBer vs Good VFPer ? result is: Good Application either, but how MUCH and how LONG did it take them to do the same?
