I downloaded WWipstuff class library from Westwind (of Rick Strahl fame). I got the FTP working sending and receiving files in about 2 hours (if I'd known what I was doing it would have been 5 minutes!)
You can also use HTTP to transfer stuff around - and Rick has written a good article about that as well available from his site
