If he'd been picked for Surgeon General, I wouldn't have much liked it, but I would have acknowledged he had appropriate experience.

But knowing what the problems are isn't the same as knowing how to solve them, and he has, AFAIK, no experience in running a large organization. In fact, he said a couple of weeks ago (or his spokesman said on his behalf) that he wasn't qualified to run a government department.

By the criterion you've set above, anybody who grew up in an inner city and meets your arbitrary standard for wisdom is qualified to run HUD. You haven't named anything that makes Carson a good pick, which is what I asked.
