Hi Joe,
The company I'm at has been using Visual ProMatrix for 18 months now and it does everything we need it to do (sometimes it does too much & we need to scale it back a bit). I think any framework will save you time up front and allow you to develop a well designed app more quickly. ProMatrix sells itself as an Application Generator but it's really just a Framework with a bunch of builders which is what you really want anyways. Afterall, real programmers don't use App. Generators ;-)
