>>>No, the hospital can decide they don't perform abortions. FWIW, a few years ago, two of my local hospitals proposed a merger. One was a Catholic hospital and it was announced that their policy on abortion would apply at both hospitals. Our community rose up and protested loudly and insistently that that was not acceptable. The merger was scrapped.

>>>Just curious. Are you in favor of late terms abortions? You know - the kind of abortions where the fetus could survive outside of the womb and become a real person?

>>It depends, if there are serious pregnancy complications or serious fetus abnormalities.... yes definately. If not, no then it should be prohibited in the 3rd trimester.

>My issue with the Republican party is that they view abortion to save mother's life as a "false alternative". They've evolved into a pro-life position that is nearly inhumane.
>
>My issue with the DNC is that they have tried to convince their followers that late term abortions only occur for reasons of the mother's health. Even pro-choice organizations have acknowledged that some women seek elective late term abortions. At the point of viability (third trimester), no one should be allowed to terminate a pregnancy unless the mother's health is in danger.

I don't disagree but advances in medical technology are constantly pushing back viability.
