>>Be interesting to see if Trumps desire to protect US jobs extends to the Boeing Iran deal .

Clearly Boeing is not the only supplier in town (Boeing's inking of $16B in sales awaits government approval while $25B of Airbus purchases move forward) so if the Boeing sale gets twisted up by politicians, you don't need to be a genius to predict what the next announcement will be.

The other one to watch, is the Russian-Chinese venture to produce passenger aircraft themselves. The Boeing/Airbus cozy duopoly draws closer to its demise, so (to mix metaphors) it's definitely time to make hay while the sun shines and to offer the carrot rather than the stick. Especially since China itself is a massive aviation market where Boeing hopes to make huge sales in coming years.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
