>>Of course if Airbus take up the slack the Donald will be tweeting about sanctions against Europe at 3:00 am.

LOL. My pick is that the sales will be approved and the storm in a teacup will resolve without loss of life. ;-)

>>Flying on Russian / Chinese aircraft may cause a need to increase life insurance policies IMO.

My parents had great stories about Aeroflot some years back - from the re-used tumblers full of incandescent liquid shoved at you by stocky flight attendants who seem to know only one stentorian word of English - "DRINK" - to the back of the seat falling off into the laps of enraged passengers behind. Barrel of laughs. Except that if the Chinese are capable of building wings for Boeing, they're capable of building good wings for their own aircraft as well, especially if designed by experienced Russian engineers.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
