>To paraphrase: You know that single payer works in Belgium and France. You have no experience with single payer anywhere else in the world. Is that correct? Apparently your experience is much too limited to speak about a 'single payer system' in general. Very sloppy Jean.

Actually, Jean makes a good point. Your argument is that single payer can't work because of your experience with the NHS. But that's a broad argument, not supported by what you presented.

You also argued that living under a single payer system would be enough to convince anyone that single payer can't work. Since Jean says single payer works in Belgium and France, it's clear that not everyone living under single payer thinks it's unworkable. (FWIW, I've talked to plenty of people in a number of countries with single payer systems who have found it to work for them.)

Since data is not the plural of anecdote, neither you nor Jean have actually proved anything general.
