Hi Bill,

I am in the same boat (or soon to be) - I just posted a thread regarding VFP problems with tables having a "data lag". I have a feeling that I am going to have to rewrite this app into at least something that is CS backend as this should get around the local (caching I suppose) of VFP data using older style free tables. In my case, I will have to get an okay from the client to begin the process of rewriting to a SQL backend - will probably leave that discussion until after Christmas when they are hopefully feeling happier :-)

I poked around the cursor adaptor class a while back (when not really "serious" about making any changes) and did not get far so will probably have to delve into that again. I know Tamar wrote an article on CA's (if I recall) but I still did not get anything going.

The problem is it was conceived many years ago and is table based with no views. The client is considering using MS SQL Server due to the need for security. I realize that my DB design is antiquated so I am considering a re-write of the app. I have no experience with C/S and little with SQL Server so I am trying to learn both. My question is what would be the best course for re-writing the app; (using a Promatrix Framework)
