>>>>When we make our annual family reunions, they come here. Guess why.
>>>
>>>Aside from bureocratic paranoia, travel not intended for economic gain usually is from rich to poor: might be country and/or own financial ability.
>>>Skiing in Switzerland is not as common/available now for people not in the 1% as it was 3rd quarter of last century for instance.
>>
>>Not the case at hand - daughters and we here are just about equally wealthy, so if space was level, we'd have made these reunions in a round-robin fashion, each taking turns as host.

>Day to day cost of living in Serbia as high as in the States ?
Food is better and cheaper, including beer, electricity more expensive than in Virginia (but lots cheaper than in California), most of the rest is about half cheaper, health services about 10x (private, haven't bothered to learn about state), but the average salary is perhaps 1/8 of the US average, but that doesn't matter because unemployment is even worse. (I've now added the old link to the details of life here to my signature again. Mind you, the stuff there is intended for american reader, so some things may not appear as strange to you.)
Still, thanks to Fox, I've accumulated enough that this difference wouldn't deter me from traveling. In my case, it's exactly the hassle and humiliation - which are the reasons the US won't be seeing a dime from me. Presently, I'm happy that I have all four grandchildren under this roof :).
