True that the famous Swiss and other Alpine resorts have become boutique exclusive destinations. But that's true of tourist favorites everywhere in the Free World AFAICS. Meanwhile the Swiss can pop across the border to the likes of Ballon d'Alsace that was very affordable last time I visited.
