Watergate: Break-in to the DNC headquarters. At some point it too was being ridiculed as non-sense.
The premise of today's claim is even worse, if Russia were involved. In this case, would the "Russian hacking" be a red-herring, if indeed the hacking/break-in resulted in political gain?
Please don't rush to a conclusion. I just don't think that it is that foolish to continue the investigation.
