>There may have been clandestine and illegal activities undertaken for political gain (and this is where the comparison with Watergate is made. Period. Oddly enough, the Watergate scandal ended without a clear conclusion of the purpose of the break-in. It did lead to the discovery of abuses of power by the Nixon administration).

>Interesting. The WikiLeaks release of the e-mails of DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz and John Podesta (chairman of the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign) lead to the discovery of abuses of power by the DNC and Clinton campaign. These things definitely should not be ignored.

They weren't. DWS resigned, and HRC lost the election. I consider all that to be drastic and irreversible consequences.
Now, there are other claims that the leaks you're invoking and others, that have been obtained in a clandestine and illegal manner, have helped Trump win. And he's dismissing these claims as "ridiculous" and "just another excuse", when many of his supporters say they should be taken seriously.
