More smart alec than disengenuous, but yes, that was a sharp jest.
Apologies.

That minorities, especially blacks, were enthusiastic makes sense.

The part that I have puzzled over the last 8 years was whites who told me they were voting for Obama and were glad that him winning showed the US was not racist.

They literally said that they were voting for him because of his race - and it was proof they were not racist.
The logic made my head explode.

I am rather libertarian - not a fan of government-heavy solutions - and that applies to republicans too.
That is background and not the point of this discussion.

I was deeply offended when I was accused of being racist when it was Obama's government-heavy/socialist policies I objected to.
Doubly so, because of the hypocrisy/double speak of the people doing the accusing me or racism where making decisions based on race.

So, yes, I was pushing you to unpack the logic of how your support of Obama was not based on his race.
It may be obvious to you, but I would still like to understand it.
