My product typical installation is in a folder on the server (usually VM server) and the users' desktop shortcuts pointing to the executable. For example, on the server there will be a shared folder c:\MyApp\ and the shortcut on the users' desktop is:
\\servername\MyApp\MyApp.exe
A customer is asking me if I could "alias" the server so that the shortcut would point not to the specific server but to the aliased name. E.g.:
\\alias_name\MyApp\MyApp.exe
How do you alias the server?
