I'd had been been working with SQL Server since 2000 (or thought I had been)

Sorry for my mistake, then. I have attended most of your sessions from 2000 until 2008. IIRC, those sessions were about using VFP's SQL syntax (which, as you know is a VERY different animal from T-SQL syntax).

I learned more about SQL Server syntax in one session last year when Tamar did a presentation on that subject than I had learned in all the years up to that point.

I am sure that you did. IIRC, Tamar first began giving T_SQL (as opposed to "using SQL Server from VFP) perhaps in 20012 but I am sure that I heard her give one in 2013. I figured that the 2013 session was the first one that she had given on the topic since she could not seem to use the proper terminology for basic things while giving the session.

Don't get me wrong. I have done some similar things. Several years ago, I gave a session on "Practical Uses of the Windows API". In the introduction of the session I said "There are 2 reasons for giving a conference session: 1. Because you have deep knowledge on the subject and it really trips your trigger and 2. Because it is a topic that really interest you and this is the best way to research and learn more about it. I admitted that my reason for doing the session were the latter and told that attendees that there might be some questions at the and that one of them might be able to answer better than I was able to. Sure enough, there were 1 or 2 that I had to ask an attendee to help me answer. However, the session went very well and was very highly rated.
