>I have been contracted to write a single user application in PowerBuilder using MS Access as the native database. I am trying to convince the employer that VFP would be the better choice. The employer says this app may become a multi-user app and he wants to keep his basis covered. Could I get other opinions?
I just believe this - PB + JET + is a curious fit.
If you want to use a real "multi-user" engine from PB, stick to the wonderful Sybase SQL Anywhere (ex watcom SQL). It can be run as standalone or networked. It is real cheap, C/S, pretty scalable and works perfectly with PB.
Jet from PB ... what a curious idea!
I am not really a PB supporter ... Sybase Anywhere is a also a very good fit for VFP C/S.
