BUT the problem affects ALL reports in the application wether they are invoked by button.click in a fortm oe by menu items frm the main menu when no form is open.
So i suspect a general issue like insufficient rights or some such because the same application works on one PC and doesn't on another. It happens with reports which have a private data session as well as with others that don't. The menu bar migt call a routine tha collects the data into a cursor and then fire the report - first preview, then print - and both show an empty result.
