fo all I remember it was
INDEX ON fieldname2 TAG xyz OF CDX(1) ADDITIVE

Cursordapter needs same solution.
INDEX ON creates a cdx based on dbf(). Every REQUERY() changes the dbf(), so the second INDEX ON will try to create a second cdx file
