[shrug] I've encountered a few situations where someone was asking about how to select a row in a spreadsheet, and after several minutes suggesting the solution (to the question as asked) and response of "No, no, that's not what I was asking" -- I decided to ask "do you mean vertical or horizontal?" (and further had to rephrase that as "up-and-down" or "side-to-side"). Turned out the person was asking about how to select a column...
