There was a time when "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" was a laudable behavior (as long as you're not a holdout Confederate.) ;-)

My view is simple: those Yankees voted him in, now they and we all need to make the best of it. IME: trying to trip the bull up because it doesn't belong in the china shop, makes very little sense. Especially if you own the china shop.
